Erwin Viado is a visual artist focused on the art form that is painting. His love for popular culture has been the defining subjects of his personal style and character as an artist.

 

His works are almost always aesthetically pleasant – characterized by pastel color palettes, identifiable patterns and meticulously spot-on subjects present in the everyday joie de vivre or banality of life. He consciously veers away from an artist’s traditionalist take on outrage and offense but rather portrays life’s difficult discussions with truthfulness, understanding, contemplation, tolerance but always with a sense of joy and relatability – feelings which resonates with his art and ultimately to his audience.

Having lived in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates for a few years for a corporate stint, Viado is now back in the Philippines to pursue his lifelong passion in the arts.

Viado’s works have been featured globally - in international art fairs including World Art Dubai, Oxford International Art Fair, Tokyo International Art Fair, and also a solo exhibit in the Philippines at the prestigious ArtistSpace Ayala Museum a few years back.
