Erwin Viado's solo exhibit "Within the Concaval Walls" up at Ayala Museum

MANILA, Dec. 21 (PNA)– December could not be complete at Ayala Museum's ArtistSpace without presenting Erwin Viado's "Within the Concaval Wall" today till Jan. 4, 2016 at the Paseo de Roxas St, Ayala Avenue of Makati City.

Fresh from his successful participation at the recent World Art Dubai 2015 in the United Arab Emirates, Filipino visual artist Erwin Viado debuts in the country his solo exhibition titled "Within the Concaval Walls" at the ArtistSpace of Ayala Museum.

In the exhibition, Viado’s work is devoid of calculated artistry offering a raw and fresh take into the vastness of human fantasies: passion, romance, artistry, power, mystery, fame, sophistication, innocence, seduction, faith, and sensuality.

Viado's work echoes the division between the real and the make believe world– using hushed tones, subdued hues and a tinge of satire to illustrate, to mock, or to allude to the fantasy.

“I draw inspiration from the human capacity to dream, to desire, to hate, to love and to laugh with an impassioned pursuit to portray these strong emotions in a muted often light interpretation meant to delight and appease the viewer all at once,” Viado said.

Viado is an art curator-turned visual artist.

His first exposure to fine arts came from a long stint as a curator at the NERO Studio, a local art gallery which housed a vast collection of works by the great Philippine masters in visual arts (i.e. Arturo Luz, HR Ocampo, Frederico Alcuaz, Edades, Jef Dizon, and Ramon Orlina) as well as up-and-coming artists.

His passion for art and design eventually led him to pursue drawing, interior and jewelry design which earned him an award at the 11th Philippine Fine Jewelry Design Competition.

Since then, he has focused on painting; creating body of works that capture the human capacity to dream, to desire, to hate, to love and to laugh.

Go and feast your eyes on an All-Viado artistry. This is a rare opportunity to see a painter blooming Filipino art and jewelry designer's wondrous works for free.(PNA)
